The era of single-core mobile chips on the threshold of the sunset

While multi-core processors today are already familiar weapons laptops, other mobile devices, they are just beginning their aggressive way. According to experts, by 2013 almost 88% of all processors sold, market-oriented mobile devices will be multicore. Currently, the industry is dominated by the x86 architecture by the notebook segment. But in the future the situation could change significantly in favor of ARM. According to In-Stat analyst Jim McGregor (Jim McGregor), the integration of graphics and multimedia accelerators in a single chip is a key trend in the mobile industry.

In-Stat predicts intensification of the struggle for the mobile market with representation in late 2009 and throughout 2010 the new multi-core solutions based on two key architectures – ARM, and x86.
